We decided to fix that. We built our infrared lamps to be simple, drop-in replacements for the Krones S24 and pretty much any other PET blow molding line you’re running. We just matched the physical size and electrical guts to what 95% of these machines actually need. No fancy workarounds required. Getting the heat right The trick with the S24 is hitting that sweet spot—softening the PET preforms without scorching the plastic. We use high-wattage quartz glass so the heat actually sinks into the preform wall evenly. Since the voltage and wattage match your original settings, you don’t have to worry about frying your power supply or ending up with under-heated resin. Just a heads-up: if you’re running a 400V high-output tube,**keep your cooling fans clean.**If the airflow is blocked, the heat builds up and your lamps won’t last nearly as long. The build quality We went with heavy-wall quartz and a halogen gas fill. Why? Because it lets us push the temperature higher than your average IR lamp, which means more radiant energy where you actually need it. We also used standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. This means you can just wire them up and go. No modifying lamp holders, no custom brackets, no fuss. Plus, we added a coating to the quartz that reflects the heat forward. It keeps the energy on the preform and stops your oven from turning into a giant waste of heat. Real-world use On the shop floor, this is a huge relief. You just pull the old tube, slide ours in, and lock the connector. It’s that simple. And here is the best part: we actually keep these in stock. You won’t have to sit around for six weeks waiting for a branded part to ship while your production line sits dead in the water.
