More Than Just a Warm Bathroom
Most people think of those infrared lamps as a luxury—something to keep you from shivering when you step out of the shower in January. But we looked at them differently. We wanted to build something that actually solves a problem. See, bathrooms are magnets for mold. It loves those damp, dark corners. That’s why we designed these lamps to act as a sort of active dehumidifier. They don’t just warm you up; they stop the mold before it even starts.
How it actually works
Here is the secret: we use shortwave infrared (SWIR). Most heaters just warm up the air, which is fine, but the air cools down the second you turn the switch off. SWIR is different. It goes deeper. It hits the wet walls and the floor directly. Instead of the heat just floating around, it sinks into the tiles and the grout, pushing the water right out of the pores of the surface. It’s fast. Really fast. And it means your bathroom actually dries instead of just feeling warm.
Fixing the “Micro-Climate”
Mold is simple. It needs a place to sit and some moisture to drink. By keeping the surface of your walls warm, we change the way moisture behaves. It stops that annoying condensation from settling into beads on the wall. A regular heater might make the room feel cozy, but the walls stay cold and clammy. Our lamps keep the surfaces dry. Sure, you might use a bit more power upfront, but that’s a tiny price to pay compared to spending your weekend scrubbing grout with harsh chemicals.
A few things to keep in mind
You can’t just slap these into any old light fixture. Because these lamps put out a lot of concentrated heat, the housing has to be tough. It needs to handle the constant expanding and shrinking that happens when it heats up and cools down. And one more thing—don’t forget your fan. If your ventilation is bad, the lamps will evaporate the water, but that moisture will just drift up and hang out on your ceiling. Pair these with a decent exhaust fan to pull that damp air out of the house. Otherwise, you’re just moving the water around the room.
