What’s Under the Hood
It all comes down to raw power, delivered fast. These heaters run on 400V, pulling the kind of current needed to generate a serious, focused blast of infrared energy. We chose a 300mm tube length on purpose. It’s short enough to concentrate all that heat into one tight zone, but long enough to cover a standard cabinet width evenly, so you don’t get hot spots. At 2500W, you’re talking about serious heat flux. It’s the only way to hit sterilization temps in seconds. But that kind of power means your surrounding equipment has to be ready for it. Your cooling and thermal shielding need to be up to the task to keep everything running smoothly and protect your components from the heat.
The Build
We went with a quartz envelope and a halogen fill. Why? Because it heats up almost instantly and keeps the output steady, even when you’re cycling it on and off all day long. The shortwave infrared doesn’t just warm the air; it drives the heat right into the surface, deep down where it counts. The tube itself has a special coating to keep its heat output consistent and to handle the shock of those rapid on/off cycles without cracking. And for the connection, we use an R7s connector. It’s built to handle high heat and high current without coming loose or sparking. It’s a direct, drop-in fit for standard fixtures, so you can get it wired and running without a major redesign.
